I’ve updated the Unit 5 page to provide you with a little help and guidance for task 4. Please take the time to read it.
Just to remind you, everything EXCEPT task 4 needs to be finished before next week. Please find time to make this happen!
Keep going.. I know it’s tough but just keep thinking about what you are going to get out of this. Make the effort – it’s worth it!
See you next week

We need to start the next unit – I have to send some of the work from this away soon! The observant amongst you will have noticed that there is a new page up – Unit 5: Information Resources. Please visit it to get help/reminders for this new unit.

It was a real pleasure to spend two days with you at the University. My colleagues were really, really impressed with the way in which you conducted yourselves and with your fantastic attitude towards your work. I am really proud of you all and what you achieved. Thank you – you are a real credit to your school.

This is an example (and another here) of the way in which a business letter should be set out. Notice that each element of the letter is ‘left aligned’ – if you drew a straight line down the left hand side of the page, the start of every line would touch it. Have you noticed that the date can go in one of two places?
Could those of you with dogs or cats please collect a couple of pet food labels and bring them in next week. Thanks and please don’t forget!
Please try to get your sponsorship form finished today – see you next week.

You’d be amazed at just how many animals you can sponsor online! Use these examples for inspiration/ideas.

Think about how these forms are laid out – then think about how you will lay your form out. Will you use boxes/tables to collect some of the information? (I would!) Which application will you use to produce your form – Word? Publisher?
Right… you need to produce a Sponsorship Application Form. This is a form that people fill in when they want to sponsor an animal.
You must include:
- the sponsor’s details (name, address, age, phone no, email and anything else you think is needed). Just to be clear, this is the person/member of the public who wants to sponsor the animal.
- details of the chosen animal (remember, animals available for sponsorship are cats/dogs at £1 per month and horses/donkey at £2 per month – you will need to present this information on the form – you may want to include small pictures of the animals)
- Payment details ( payment is by direct debit only – this means that money will be directly from the sponsors bank account. To set up a direct debit you will need to collect the following information: Bank Account Name, Name of Branch, Sort Code, Account Number, Amount to be debited each month.)
- Logo (its available on the logo page >>>)

Hi all – hope you had a good half-term. I’d like to kick-off this week by introducing you to 5 little tasks. These tasks are worth 20% of the marks for Unit 1, so they are worth doing well.
Please begin by reading the first page of UNIT 1 which contains the SCENARIO – that’s it, it’s over there on the right >>>
Now take a look at the TASKS, in particular TASK 1 >>>
Everyone has done a great job with the first part of this unit! It’s now time to get going with Multimedia – Part 2!
I need everyone to open an account with writely – it’s a cool online word-processor/collaboration tool. I’ll tell you more when I see you.
